Children’s Ministry

Children are a blessing from God, and we consider it a privilege to minister to them. Jesus told us that we are to do our part in bringing children to Him (Matthew 19:14). At Great Neck Baptist, we want to provide a loving environment where children are taught the Bible and nurtured in faith. In order to do this we emphasize the following ministries.

Nursery – Preschool

What to Expect: Children, birth through four years of age, are well taken care of in the church nursery.  The purpose of the nursery is to provide a clean, safe, happy loving Christ centered environment where children can learn about God. All nursery workers have had background checks. Nursery is available during Sunday School and Sunday Worship Service.

Kindergarten – 6th Grade

GNBC offers the following ministries to help parents raise their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Sunday School – meets at 9:30 every Sunday morning.  Parents can drop off their children and attend an adult Bible fellowship.  Sunday school is a proven method of teaching children the stories of the Bible and the importance of knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Children’s Worship – Immediately following Sunday School, 4-year-old children through those in 5th grade have the opportunity to attend Children’s Church. At 10:45, children meet in the gym for game time.  After game time, children will attend children’s choir. Following this, children meet in the classroom for a Bible lesson and snack. If your child is attending Children’s Church for the first time, please check-in with the Children’s Ministry leaders in the gym. Parents will pick up their children from the gym at the end of service.

Vacation Bible School – We are currently planning our 2022 VBS. Details available soon!

UPWARD Basketball and Cheerleading – for children K-5 through 9th Grade.  Kids are taught the fundamentals of basketball and sportsmanship in a faith-friendly environment.

Every person who volunteers in any ministry involving children is required to have a current background check as well as undergo our Child Protection Policy Training.
