Upward Sports encourages young athletes to Play With Purpose. Both Upward Basketball and Cheerleading teach the fundamentals of the sport while aiming to teach good sportsmanship using Biblical principles.

Important information about our league

As you are aware, our typical start date for our basketball and cheerleading league is on the horizon. By this time most years, we have all the details worked out and are ready to kick off our season. This year, however, just as the world has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, so has our league.

Currently, we are looking to push back the start of our league, but are looking for feedback from you. If you have participated in our league before, we would appreciate your response to this survey.

About our league:

Basketball leagues are co-ed for the following divisions: K5, 1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th.

For 6th/7th/8th grade we offer boys basketball teams as well as girl basketball teams.

Cheer squads are determined by grade. In most cases, like age/grades cheer together. All cheer squads will wear identical uniforms. No cheer squad will cheer for a specific team. Rather, squads will cheer and encourage all teams that are playing. Cheerleaders will perform cheers and chants on the sidelines during the game. At the end of each quarter and halftime, cheerleaders will take to the middle of the gym to perform a cheer.

Practices will be one hour each week. Practices dates and times have not yet been determined. We make every effort to accommodate schedules, but can not guarantee a specific practice night or time.
